Making the Most of Your Interviews
(on any media platform)
Online - Thursday, August 6th
1pm to 2pm Eastern Time
Landing an interview with an important spokesperson or expert or 'a great source' is a key part of any story you're working on, whether it's for a podcast, a magazine or newspaper, or that corporate content you've been asked to provide. But performing that interview and getting the most out of your subject is another skill worth developing. In this exclusive CFG webinar, join long-time interviewing trainer and fellow member Paul McLaughlin for tips on how to get 'the right stuff' out of your subjects.
Paul is one of Canada's most experienced interviewing trainers. He wrote the widely used text, Asking Questions: The Art of the Media Interview, and is the former interviewing trainer for CBC Radio and TV. An interviewer himself, he has conducted thousands of interviews for both broadcast and print over many decades. He taught interviewing as part of his many courses at the Ryerson School of Journalism and in York University's Professional Writing program.
This one-hour webinar will be conducted using the Zoom platform. It is free for Canadian Freelance Guild members and costs just $25 for non-members.
